24 presentations were presented at the seminars by experts and managers from agencies, units and departments including: Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL), Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), Vietnam Occupational Safety and Health Association (VOSHA), representatives from institutes, universities, companies, international experts from ILO, KOSHA (Korea), etc., and the participation of VNNIOSH researchers and staff at 03 headquarters across 3 regions of the country.

The presentations in the seminars all focus on the main issues: Results of scientific and technological research in the field of OSH; Current situation of OSH work and the provision of general OSH services in Viet Nam and in some typical industries and localities; OSH issues in protecting workers’ rights; Applying science technology and digital technology to OSH training; Experience of domestic and foreign organizations in the field of OSH activities; Research directions on OSH in the period 2025-2030.

KOSHA expert participates and gives presentation at the seminar

Following closely the orientations and directions of the Secretariat, the Prime Minister, and the 12th Executive Committee of the General Confederation of Labor of Vietnam, the seminar outlined the orientation to strengthen research and development of science and technology to overcome and develop OSH work in the period 2025-2030: “Continue to promote a number of advanced, basic, interdisciplinary research directions among the fields of science and technology including natural sciences, social sciences and humanities to develop theory and provide scientific basis for building national strategies and programs, developing policies on OSH to better protect the legitimate rights and interests of trade union members and workers; Innovate and apply digital technology and promote information, propaganda, training and education for trade union members and workers on OSH and policies and laws”.

Proposed research groups including:

1. Research the scientific and practical basis to serve the development and improvement of institutions and laws on OSH;

2. Research to develop and apply science and technology, advise and support improving working conditions, safety culture model, preventing occupational accidents and occupational diseases;

3. Basic research to guide the application of new, advanced and modern science and technology in OSH activities and collecting and processing of OSH and working environment data in the digital environment;

4. Research measures to prevent occupational diseases and develop the list of occupational diseases;

5. Research and apply comprehensive health care methods, rehabilitation and improvement of workers’ health;

6. Strengthen international cooperation, receive and transfer OSH science and technology.
